I scored low, and probably only got as much as I did because the honest answer – ‘I don’t know’ was not available. The phishing question asks whether I believe the example to be legitimate, then seems to compel me to say why it isn’t – even though I may be unable to identify any problems with it. Hopefully the questionnaire will take into account blind guesswork – the truth is, if I’m in doubt, I’ll contact a friend..

The phishing question seems to have created a bit of a debate (see below) here and on Facebook!

It should take into account blind guesswork. It’s about finding out what (if any) methods people might use to find out answers to their digital problems. Hopefully I’ll have quite a good outlook on how we come by digital knowledge after I’m finished :-)

    Hi Jamie,

Good quiz. The phishing question is a bit vague. For I think a couple of the sentences go over two slides and I would be suspicious of any email from The Head Of Internet Security in an email, which I don’t think was included in the correct answer.

Also, can I have my masters degree now.

As I mentioned above, the phishing question was open to debate. I spent a while trying to think of ways that wouldn’t be too subtle, but wouldn’t be too debatable either. You’re right, the HoIS probably wouldn’t write to you. I think I envisaged it as a letter signed by them but written and sent by an assistant, or automatically (nowadays).

Still, perhaps it would have been better to put “Internet Security Team” ;-)

An entertaining quiz, I liked the bar code question! Although I’ve never used the Google image search before, good thing the text answers weren’t counted!

The Windows shortcuts questions was quite well chosen, since (I think, correct me if I’m wrong) all those shortcuts do the same things in Mac and most Linux OS.

    I got 76% (yay!)
But it was almost entirely guesswork.
I would have probably gotten 100% with an ‘I don’t know button’ :)

Nice quiz, how many people answer ‘mac’ for security?

Might be worth pointing out that there are apps for Android that let you edit office documents directly so you don’t need GDocs, although that is still a good solution.

I passed Jamie so should have my MSc now!! I guessed some and asked Lewis some of the answers though so I don’t suppose it counts!! I will pass it onto my colleagues at school. It only takes 10 minutes not 30 as suggested in your intro.

    love Mum xx

You’re supposed to use any resource OTHER than asking someone directly! Cheater!
